Brymo still with Chocolate City

Rumours have been making the rounds that Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has quit his contract with Chocolate City. The speculation is coming a few weeks after MI’s younger brother, Jesse Jagz, quit the record label.
The news began when the singer tweeted that he had left the record label. he tweeted, “it is true i have left Chocolate city.”
Saturday Beats gathered that the singer put the posted the tweet probably in annoyance because he was reprimanded by the record label for misbehaving. It was gathered that the bone of contention because of a picture Brymo posted of himself smoking Indian hemp on his instagram page. His record label asked him to take the picture down because it was denting the image of the company but the singer refused so he was scolded. prior to that, the singer was said to have been arrongant towards his record label. For instance, he some months back during a show in London, he and Ice Prince was meant to perform the Oleku song but he refused to join Ice Prince on stage.
However, Saturday Beats learnt from the CEO of the record label, Audu Maikori, that Brymo has three album deal with the label and has only dropped two.
He said, “I can confirm that Brymo still has a valid contract with Choc City, so we do not understand where these stories are coming from. Following news surfacing on social media platform, Twitter, our attention has been drawn to the rumours about Brymo AKA Olawale Ashimi claiming he has left Chocolate City.
“For purpose of clarity, Brymo has a three-album deal with Chocolate City of which he has delivered only two, it is ludicrous that anyone will believe that a person can just tweet his way out of a multi million naira contract.”
Also, the record label has expanded and commenced operations in Kenya. Rap artiste, MI, who is the vice-president of the label, while commenting on their expansion, told Saturday Beats that the aim of the label is to create a platform for the growth and expansion of East African music and foster more mutually beneficial collaborations with other African sub-regions.
The label has already signed Kenyan act Victoria Kimani who features M.I on her sophomore single, Oya.
